BRAVO Ambulatory pH Testing

What is BRAVO Ambulatory pH Testing?

The novel approach or BRAVO pH Testing to measuring acid reflux has revolutionised the experience for patients.

Previously, people had to walk around with a tube placed into the oesophagus through the nose. The end came out the nose and was attached to a recording device they had to wear for 24 hours. People could not go about their daily routines and they also had to limit the types of food that they ate during the test.

Techniques

BRAVO pH Testing involves a very small device which is directly implanted to the oesophagus. It measures the acid reflux over a 48 hour period, with no tubes sticking out. People can now eat normally during the test and are able to go out as normal. In addition, the device collects information for 48 hours rather than 24 hours.
